Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder

Recently I was thinking on what to cook on the weekends which will give me more time on weekdays. Nothing usually will stay moist or taste as good as freshly cooked meals I thought, until I came across this great slow cooker pork shoulder recipe wherein you can just cook a whole pork shoulder in the weekend and have a bunch of other variations for the whole week.

Think about pork shoulder sandwich with BBQ sauce, Ropa Vieja (pulled apart pork and fried till crispy) or even a pork Caesar Salad, interesting right?

For me, this recipe has done wonders and has given me endless possibilities in my everyday meals. I guess it would be best to share this super moist and flavorful recipe with all of you so that you will get what I mean and enjoy all the possible variations that goes along with this recipe. Ingredients

4 pounds pork shoulder, bone-in

1 tablespoon sea salt

2 teaspoons black pepper

1 white onion, chopped

5 cloves garlic, minced

½ cup white wine

 

Directions

1. Rinse the pork with cold water and rub it generously with salt and pepper. Place the pork in the slow cooker then add in the onions and garlic on top.

2. Pour in your wine then set your slow cooker on low for 5 – 8 hours until pork is fork tender.

3. Take out of the pork from the slow cooker and place on a platter then shred the meat. Keep in the freezer or in the chiller till needed or serve right away with some BBQ sauce, enjoy!
