Ingredients

4 tablespoons olive oil

3 strips bacon, chopped

2 small onions, chopped

3 cloves garlic, chopped

1 stalk celery, chopped

1 medium carrot, chopped

1 pound beef chuck, ground

1 can crushed tomatoes

4 tablespoons parsley, chopped

7 basil leaves, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

4 tablespoons pecorino or parmesan cheese, grated

 

Directions

1. In a large saute pan, saute your onions, garlic, carrots and celery in olive oil for around 5 to 8 minutes till softened.

2. Add in your ground beef and cook until beef is browned and broken down around 10 minutes.

3. Add in your canned tomatoes, basil and parsley and cook till sauce thickens which  will be around 10 minutes or so.

4. Season to taste with salt and pepper and pour over your pasta of choice then to finish off top with a generous amount of grated pecorino cheese, enjoy!
