  1. MMM – corned beef! Take about a 3-4 lb flat cut of it (trim the excess fat) and 1/4 c of brown sugar, put it into the crock pot and then pour in a big bottle of guinness, cook on low 6-8 hours. This ALWAYS comes out great and makes the best reubens or corn beef hash the next day!

    Stew beef
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
    Sliced mushrooms (optional)
    1 c. water
    8 oz. sour cream
    Egg noodles
Brown stew beef in skillet. Place in crock pot with soups, onion soup mix, water, and mushrooms. Cook 6-8 hours on low. One-half hour before serving, add sour cream to mixture. Serve over egg noodles.

3 c. picked and washed pinto beans
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tbsp. chili powder
    1 medium chopped onion
1/2 lb. chopped salt pork (I buy the sliced) or 2 ham hocks
Place washed beans in a crock pot and cover with water to within 4 inches from the top. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, and chopped onion. Stir to mix. Add pork and cover. Cook on high for 1 hour and then reduce to low for 4 or more hours. If you are in a hurry, keep on high longer.

Serve with fried potatoes or cornbread.

This is a simple chicken dish to make in your crockpot, but will fill up the hungry tummies at your dinner table.
1 1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken pieces
1 C. packed light brown sugar
    2/3 C. vinegar
    1/4 C. lemon/lime soda
    2-3 Tbs. minced garlic
    2 Tbs. soy sauce
    1 tsp. ground black pepper
Place chicken in crockpot/slow cooker. Mix all remaining ingredients together and pour over chicken. Cook on low setting for 6 – 8 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.

  3. I love making roasts. You could do a pork roast or a beef roast. There are so many different recipe’s online. Yummy ones. 🙂
With beef roasts, we usually put carrots, potatoes, onions, and celery in the crock pot w/ the roast. Gives it lots of flavor.
    Good luck!

  4. Crockpot barbecue chicken
3 pounds frozen chicken breasts, boneless – skinless unthawed.
    1 can jellied cranberry sauce
    1 envelope onion soup mix

In your crockpot, put the 2-3 lbs. frozen and not thawed boneless, skinless chicken breasts, the cranberry sauce and onion soup mix. Cook on low 7-8 OR on high for 3 hours and then low for 3 hours.

    Serves 6.

  5. My favorite and easy crock pot recipe is for Pot Roast!!

You can use almost any cut of meat, but if you choose to use a lean cut, you must add water.

You can brown the meat if you want, but I am lazy so I just throw it all in the crckpot:

    1 Beef Roast (2-4 pounds)
1 Envelope of Onion Soup Mix
    1 can Cream of Mushroom
    optional mushrooms
optional 1 cup of red wine (any)

Sprinkle onion soup mix on top of roast. Top that with the mushroom soup. Add the optional ingredients if you like.
Sometimes I add real diced onions or garlic or potatoes, you get the picture….

Make sure to adjust the onion soup mix as to not make your dish too salty. Better too little than too much as you can always add more later.

If you are using a lean cut of meat like top/bottom round (aka london broil), be sure to add water so that it doesn’t dry out.

This recipe makes its own gravy!! If you want to thicken it, make a roux (I do mine in the microwave. 2 tablespoons of better and 2 tablespoons of flour on high for two minutes, being sure to mix it thoroughly after the first 30 seconds) and add to the crockpot.
    Cover and cook on low.

  7. Here are some of my fav’s…

This is so easy, and you can’t believe how tasty!

    Swiss Steak
    1 round steak
    2 cans stewed tomatoes
    Egg noodles, cooked.

Sear the steak on both sides.
Put in crock pot and sprinkle with a good seasoned salt.
Add the two cans of tomatoes.
Cook all day (8 hours or so).
Serve over cooked and buttered egg noodles.
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 onion, chopped
    1 sm. can chilies
1 sm. can mild enchilada sauce
1 can golden mushroom soup, undiluted
1 can cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 can cream of celery soup, undiluted
    1 lg. pkg. Dorito chips
Brown hamburger and chopped onion, pour off grease. Put all ingredients in crock pot except Dorito chips. Mix and cook low 4 to 6 hours. Last 15 minutes before you are ready to eat, add Dorito chips and stir.
These are so easy and wonderful. You can’t believe it!

    BBQ Ribs

    Country Style Ribs
Bottled BBQ Sauce (any kind you like)

Sear ribs on all sides to seal in juices. Place in crock pot. Cover with sliced onions and BBQ sauce. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Yummy!!!

Serve with baked beans, cornbread…and this salad is great:

    Caesar Coleslaw

    1 pkg pre-made coleslaw
    1/4-1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese
    1/2 pkg caesar croutons
    1 bottle creamy caesar dressing

Toss first three ingredients together. Add enough dressing to coat. It’s even good the next day!

    Rice and Beans and Sausage

    3 celery ribs, chopped
    1 onion, chopped
    4 garlic cloves, minced
1 3/4 cups V8 juice (or tomato juice)
2 16 oz. cans kidney beans, drained
    3/4 tsp dried oregano
    3/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/2-3/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (less if you don’t like spicy)
    1/2 tsp pepper
2 lb. fully cooked smoked kielbasa cut into 1/4 inch slices.
    4 cups cooked rice

Combine all ingredients except rice in slow cooker. Cover. Cook on low 4-6 hours. Serve over rice. Yummy!!

    Hope this helps!
